Announcing a new software distribution arrangement

The Athena Institute has had a long-standing collaborative relationship with Morrison Hershfield Consulting Engineers. In addition to working together for many years on building assessments and related projects, Morrison Hershfield has provided support services for the ATHENA® Impact Estimator for buildings, the Institute's LCA-based software for assessing the environmental effects of building structures and envelopes. We have now extended that relationship to encompass software development and distribution.

NEW Carbon Footprint Consulting Service

The Institute is offering a new carbon footprint consulting service in response to the growing need to address global warming.

EcoCalculator

In our efforts to help architects and designers make environmentally-informed decisions about the materials they specify for buildings, we have developed an exciting new Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tool.*

The new ATHENA® EcoCalculator for Assemblies provides instant LCA results for more than 400 common building assemblies - including exterior walls, roofs, intermediate floors, interior walls, windows, and columns and beams. The results presented in the tool are based on detailed assessments conducted using the ATHENA® Impact Estimator for buildings.

The EcoCalculator can be used for new construction projects, retrofits and major renovations, and for industrial, institutional, office or residential designs, either to compare specific assemblies or to assess all of the assemblies in a structure.
