Voshage brings extensive architectural and LEED building experience to the Board

The Athena Sustainable Materials Institute Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Jens Voshage, a certified architect and academic instructor, to its Board.

Mr. Voshage is replacing Jim Taggart, a long serving Board member who brought incalculable experience with him as the Executive Director of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Foundation as well as the Editor of Sustainable Architecture and Building Magazine.

“As a director Jim regularly brought ideas from the academic sphere to the board for discussion.  The Athena Institute greatly appreciated his participation, and especially his recruiting of his replacement,” said Stephen Pope, Chair of the Athena Board.

Mr. Voshage is an industry expert on tall mass timber buildings, having spent three years working for Austrian timber-hybrid modular construction system provider Cree GmbH.  He has been teaching Performative Design in Canada, Switzerland and Germany since 2011 and is currently an adjunct faculty member for the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
