The Chemical Fabrics and Film Association, Inc. (CFFA) recently commissioned the first industry level Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) of PVC roofing in North America.

This detailed LCI was completed in response to the industry’s evolving standard, entitled “Sustainability Assessment Standard for Single Ply Roofing Membranes.” The study provides a detailed account of the weighted average physical environmental flows associated with the cradle-to-gate production of 48 mil white single ply polyester reinforced PVC roofing membrane.

The study was conducted by the Athena Institute in cooperation with CFFA, and the resulting LCI data is to be submitted to the US LCI Database and incorporated into the Athena Impact Estimator and EcoCalculator.
