The not for profit Athena Institute welcomes two new members: the Metal Building Manufacturers Association and the Forest Products Association of Canada

The Athena Institute is pleased to welcome our latest new members, the Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) and the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC). Both of these organizations have been long-time champions of LCA and Athena.

“We’re proud of our affiliation with the Athena Institute,” said Dan Walker, MBMA’s Associate General Manager. “Our industry set out to study and credibly document the environmental impacts of metal building products, and we did it using the data-driven LCA approach via Athena’s Impact Estimator software,” he explained. “As an organization, MBMA and its members are fully committed to sustainability in the built environment.”

FPAC is the voice of Canada’s wood, pulp and paper producers nationally and internationally in government, trade, and environmental affairs. “FPAC advocates for sustainable construction and we’re pleased to support Athena’s work in life cycle assessment,” said Paul Lansbergen, Acting President and CEO of FPAC.

MBMA and FPAC join a growing list of construction sector thought leaders whose support helps Athena advance our vision of a verifiably sustainable built environment.
