The Athena Institute celebrates 20 years of LCA leadership

Twenty years ago, Jamie Meil and Wayne Trusty launched the Athena Sustainable Materials Institute to advance the science of life cycle assessment and its application in the built environment. This small, innovative, Canadian non-profit has become a strong North American voice for LCA.

To this day, thousands of design professionals, sustainability consultants and students use the Athena Impact Estimator for buildings – the first, most comprehensive and the only free LCA tool for the North American design and construction sector.

The Athena Institute would like to thank its members and supporters. Without the decades of support and engagement the Athena Institute has enjoyed, none of this public-good work would be possible.
