Athena Sustainable Materials Institute releases a web version of Pavement LCA, its popular and free life cycle assessment tool for roadways
The Athena Sustainable Materials Institute has announced that Pavement LCA, its free life cycle assessment (LCA) tool for roadways, is now available as a web application.
The user-friendly software calculates the environmental impact of Canadian regional roadway designs, putting the power of LCA into the hands of any transportation engineer or roadway designer.
The software provides environmental impact results for all roadway life cycle stages and allows for quick and easy comparison of multiple design options over a range of lifespans. Pavement LCA boasts a large materials database and the flexibility to specify unique pavements or choose from a library of existing designs.

Concurrently, Athena has released an update to the desktop version of the software, which includes all the same features as the web tool, as well as a database of both Canadian and US regional data. Download the desktop version at calculatelca.com.
The Athena Institute is able to provide Pavement LCA for free thanks to the support of the Cement Association of Canada and its other members.
