Athena Institute awarded funding to create wbLCA benchmarking
The Athena Institute is pleased to announce we have been awarded funding under the Forestry Innovation Investment Wood First program, to develop a system for whole-building LCA (wbLCA) benchmarking.
In this work, we will create a pilot database with material quantities for multiple buildings, for the purpose of wbLCA benchmarking per the method described in the National Research Council “National Guidelines for Whole-building LCA” (2022).
In addition, we will create a feature in the Impact Estimator web app to automatically create a benchmark model for comparison to a user’s model.
